The Practice is equipped with the normal modern equipment found in survey offices including total stations with in-built data recorders. Field data is processed using engineering and surveying software and plan preparation assisted by computer generated Design and Drafting techniques. In addition to the normal modern equipment found in survey offices, we have a wide range of specialised equipment for high precision surveying, gyroscopic determination of azimuth and satellite global positioning.

C. R. Hutchison & Co. Pty. Ltd. owns and operates the only two Gyromat 2000 fully automatic high precision gyroscopes known to be in Australia.

Since 1970, C.R. Hutchison & Co. have been leading Australia in the provision of consulting surveying services to their clients using equipment which includes GPS technology.

The first GPS surveying products used in the early and mid 1990's by the company were the Leica System 200 and System 300. When released by Leica in 1998 the company upgraded its GPS system to the top of the range System 500 range namely the Leica SR530 GPS Geodetic RTK.
